1/4 inch drip tubing (1/4" (0.170" ID x 0.250" OD))
Where 1/4" (0.170" ID x 0.250" OD) is used, its real dimensions, and how to connect it.
Used on: US micro-drip distribution tubing carrying water to drippers and 1/4 inch dripline.
US 1/4 inch tubing runs 0.170 inch bore and 0.250 inch outside. Its barbs are cut for a 0.140 to 0.170 inch inner diameter, so they are a fraction larger than 4/7 mm European barbs. Buy the barb to match the tubing you already own, not by the nominal name.
Quick-connect click fittings from Hozelock, Gardena and Karcher are proprietary and do not interchange. They all sit on top of a standard thread underneath, so the reliable way to move between brands is to adapt at the threaded tap or hose-end fitting, then use each brand's own connector above it.
