Connect 1/4 inch drip tubing to 16 mm LDPE drip supply pipe
How to join 1/4" (0.170" ID x 0.250" OD) and 16 mm (0.63" OD), and what stops it leaking.
Not a direct fit. Joining 1/4 inch drip tubing to 16 mm LDPE drip supply pipe needs a 1/4 inch to 16 mm drip take-off.
The part to buy
1/4 inch micro tubing branches off a 16 mm main through a barbed take-off that punches into the main pipe and presents a 1/4 inch barb. This is how individual drippers and misters tap the supply line without cutting it.
Use the correct hole punch, not a drill. An oversize hole in the 16 mm main will not seal around the take-off barb and weeps at every branch.
